Terms of Service
Agreement to Terms
By downloading, installing, or using Lift ("the App"), you agree to these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App.
Description of Service
Lift is an iOS utility that extracts text from screenshots stored in your photo library using on-device optical character recognition. The App processes data locally on your device. There is no server-side component, no user accounts, and no cloud storage.
Use of the App
You may use Lift for any lawful purpose. You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works based on the App
- Use the App in any way that violates applicable local, state, national, or international law
- Distribute, license, or sell the App or any copies of it
Photo Library Access
Lift requires access to your photo library to function. You grant this access through iOS system permissions. You can revoke photo library access at any time in your device's Settings. Revoking access will prevent Lift from importing new screenshots but will not affect previously imported items.
Data and Privacy
All data created by Lift is stored locally on your device. Lift does not collect, transmit, or store any personal data on external servers. For full details, see our Privacy Policy.
Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, logo, and content, is owned by the developers of Lift and is protected by applicable intellectual property laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to the App's intellectual property beyond the limited license to use the App as described here.
Text extracted from your screenshots belongs to you. Lift makes no claim to the content of your screenshots or the text derived from them.
Disclaimer of Warranties
Lift is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including but not limited to implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.
Text extraction accuracy depends on the quality and content of your screenshots. Lift does not guarantee that all text will be correctly recognized. The App uses Apple's Vision framework for text recognition, and results may vary based on image quality, text formatting, and language.
Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the developers of Lift shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of data, use, or profits, arising out of or in connection with your use of the App.
Since Lift processes data locally and does not transmit data externally, the developers are not responsible for the security of data stored on your device. Device-level security (passcode, Face ID, encryption) is your responsibility.
Source Screenshot Deletion
If you enable the "Delete source screenshots" setting, Lift will request deletion of screenshots from your photo library. Each deletion requires your confirmation through an iOS system dialog. Lift is not responsible for any unintended deletion of photos. This feature is off by default.
Auto-Expiry
Lift automatically deletes imported items after a configurable period (default: 48 hours). This is a core feature of the App, not a defect. Pinned items are exempt from auto-expiry. You are responsible for pinning any items you want to retain beyond the expiry period.
App Store Terms
Your use of Lift is also subject to Apple's App Store Terms of Service. In the event of a conflict between these Terms and Apple's terms, Apple's terms shall prevail with respect to your use of the App Store and Apple's services.
Termination
You may stop using Lift at any time by deleting the App from your device. Deleting the App removes all locally stored data, including thumbnails, extracted text, and settings. There is no account to close or data to request deletion of, since no data is stored externally.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Updated terms will be posted at this URL. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
Governing Law
These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the jurisdiction in which the App's developers are located, without regard to conflict of law principles.
